With a title that’s too long for its own good, I’ve finally have something to show for all of this work I’ve been doing. Preparatory comics & illustrations is a mixture of art dump and art book comprising broken, separate and rejected comics and illustrations resulting from my work on − and desperation over − a project during March of 2016. The text‑based cover and back cover in austere black and white contrast with luscious, full-color illustrations on the inside, showcasing exuberantly raw digital drawing and painting, but also a knack for experimenting to the point of stylistic schizophrenia. The title, playing on the irony of always being busy with work, only to end up with a public result made of fragments and rejects, emphasizes the “fail aesthetics” underlying this publication.

Com um título demasiado longo para o seu próprio bem, Preparatory comics & illustrations é uma mistura de art dump e art book composta por pedaços de banda desenhada e ilustração quebrados, separados e rejeitados, resultantes do meu trabalho – e desespero − a propósito de um projeto durante Março de 2016. A capa e contracapa textuais, em preto e branco austero, contrastam com as ilustrações luxuriantemente coloridas no interior, mostrando não só uma queda para desenhos e pinturas digitais crus e exuberantes, mas também para a experimentação ao ponto da esquizofrenia estilística. O título, jogando com a ironia de estar-se sempre ocupado com trabalho, apenas para se acabar com um resultado público feito de fragmentos e rejeições, enfatiza a “estética do falhanço” subjacente a esta publicação.
