This is the second book in the QCDA series, a giant-sized comics anthology by Chili Com Carne. The theme is apocalyptic, but don’t go expecting zombies: here you’ll find the daydreams of hairdresser girls (Sílvia), bloody coup-d’etats (Amanda), and prophetess of doom (Sofia). My contribution, “They Say That Clovers Blossom from Promises,” offers a taste of cognitive ruin, decorated with IOS emojis, starry screentones, lots of luscious flowers and the sentimental maze of shōjo manga stock phrases. The flowy page layout (inspired by Year 24 Group shōjo manga pioneers like Moto Hagio), in which the comic panels appear to float in the ether, barely contains the bodies and bodily fragments of monster-girls with insect-like appendixes on their backs, who inhabit the narrative, dressed in soft ground costumes. I also did the cover of the book, in which the authors are represented as rainbow-colored posthuman fashion vampire-ghouls.
We’re not looking for treasures or answers, but we know that nothing rises out of rotten bodies!
/O segundo livro da série QCDA, uma antologia de banda desenhada em grande formato editada pela Chili Com Carne. O tema é apocalíptico mas não estejam à espera de zombies: aqui encontram-se devaneios de meninas cabeleireiras, golpes de estado sangrentos, profetizas da desgraça.
A minha contribuição, oferece um cheirinho da ruína cognitiva decorada com emojis IOS, screentones estrelados e um labirinto sentimental de stock phrases de shōjo mangá. O layout informal das páginas (inspirada pelas pioneiras do Grupo do Ano 24, como Moto Hagio), em que as vinhetas parecem flutuar no éter, mal contém os corpos e fragmentos corporais das raparigas-monstro com apêndices insectoides nas costas, que povoam a narrativa, vestidas em trajes soft grunge. Também fiz a capa do livro, no qual as autoras são representadas como criaturas vampiras pós-humanas fashion coloridas como arco-íris.
Não estamos à procura de tesouros ou respostas, mas sabemos que nada se faz a partir de corpos podres!

O lançamento internacional do QCDA #2000 deu-se no Altcom festival de 2014, dedicado ao “POSTAPOKALYPS”. Houve banca da Chili Com Carne, onde também constavam zines do Clube do Inferno, e a exposição colectiva QCDA@Altcom2014, que incluiu originais dos artistas participantes nas duas edições do QCDA, incluindo a Hetamoé e o André. A apresentação oficial do QCDA como projecto editorial foi feito numa série de conversas com os artistas no Folkets Park. A experiência foi relatada no zine Malmö Kebeb Party (“Hetamoé’s Malmö”), publicado em 2015 pela Chili Com Carne e Ruru Comix.
The international release of QCDA #2000 took place at the 2014 edition of the Altcom festival, dedicated to the theme “POSTAPOKALYPS”. In addition to a Chili Com Carne stand, which also carried Clube do Inferno's zines, there was the exhibiton QCDA@Altcom2014, a small group show showcasing originals by QCDA contributors. A parallel series of artist talks at Folkets Park served as official presentation to the QCDA editorial project. This experience was recounted in the zine Malmö Kebab Party (“Hetamoé’s Malmö”), published in 2015 by Chilli Com Carne and Ruru Comix.
